The Canon C100 Video Camera
Hi All! This week Trapdoor is getting it’s geek on and delving into the world of camera’s and technology! Today we’re going to write about the Canon C100.
The C100, alongside the C300 and the C500 are the latest range of cinema cameras from Canon, and they have combined the portability and ease of use with the DSLR, as well as the more professional features that DSLR users have been missing out on such as audio inputs and monitoring, time code, focus peaking, ND filters and a host of features not found on out-of-the-box DSLR cameras.
So now that we have ‘nerderd’ you out basically this means that the C100 has solved the issues of recording sound (Which was an issue on DSLR’s), keeping your image nice and sharp instead of the ‘blurry-ness’ common with DSLR’s and also lets you keep things looking nice and clear when it’s really bright outside.
The C100 is definitely a camera to look forward to down the track when it comes to upgrading. However there are a few other cameras with similar features for close to the value of the C100. Cameras like the Sony FS100, FS700 or even the Black Magic Cinema Camera are all cameras to consider if one is looking to upgrade from a DSLR to a more professional video camera.
